Colossians 3:16 King James Version (KJV)

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."

This verse is now theme verse for my music ministry. From what I understand, the psalms were songs that were sung directly from the Book of Psalms. Hymns were songs that were praise and testimony songs. And spiritual songs represents instrumental music.

I particularly like how it says we are to teach and encourage one another through music. I also really like how it says "singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." Sometimes the King James Version is said more eloquently than some of the modern translations, as it is in this case.

This is a perfect verse for a Christian musician.
